,,I was just re-reading the interview with S.I. ... and he mentioned how he wasn't allowed to say much to anyone in regards to certain things that were being worked out with CBS Showtime, and StrikeForce because he is the executive of a publicly traded company...and that there were still more things to work on...THis is probably why we aren't getting any word from the company just yet...I'd assume if they are actual partners in the show with Burnett..they will want to put out something in regards to that...but maybe they are close to finsihing up some other items this week that will allow them to give us a little more than that...
In that article he mentions how he is an open book in regards to himself...He doesn't sound like the kinda guy that wants to keep info quiet when there is something to say...but with work still being done behind the scenes..he's shown that ProElite can keep a tight lip....
Remember when these negotiations were going on with cbs etc..there were articles stating they were going out of business all together...but he wasn't allowed to come out and defend that even though he knew it was wrong...that was probably pretty frustrating to a point...but they showed they can keep a very tight lip....
just points to consider...
being debt free...
Profitable King of the Cage...(Revenue might not be out of this world..but Profit is profit...)
License dollars coming in...almost free money?
some link to a reality show...(maybe actual partner..more profit) if not,,still great advertising for KOTC...imagine how many eyes will see the name,,,and how many more fighters might be inclined to fight for KOTC after this..
A ceo that seems to look forward to turning around distressed companies..and a Legit Ceo to boot...
FSN deal....
and whatever else i'm missing...
I just know that even 2.5 years ago I attended a KOTC event to watch my girlfriends cousin fight in Ohio...and I was pretty impressed with the whole event...KOTC is a great proving ground for fighters to work there way up in the ranks...so people in mma circles know what KOTC is and its value...most people not knowing this will always say but it will never be as big as the UFC blah blah.....which maybe true...but every fighter wants to fight in the UFC and alot go thru KOTC to get there...KOTC is a great feeder to the bigger events...I think the main 3 right now are Affliction, UFC, and now maybe StrikeForce ...the bigger this sport grows the more cities KOTC will invade looking for the new talent to pass on...Also now especially with the relationship with Strikeforce...fighters might be inclined to go the KOTC route thinking they will have a better chance of getting booked eventually on the Strike Force shows...We don't have to be the biggest event in town,,,we just have to make money on the shows we do,,,and do a chitload of them....Imagine a time when KOTC is doing 4 or 5 shows a week in 4 or 5 different states at a time...Kind of a lofty goal yes...but is it possible?..I think so... So I'm happy just being the Number #1 feeder circuit in the business...but if she blows up to a major ..then I'll be happy with that too...
