Depending upon the action today, and knowing that we are coming to the end of the week, would you rather be long or short going into the weekend, as for me the sidelines is still the safest place.

Anyone who thinks these numbers were good this morning is mistaken, maybe the sales were better than expected, but did anyone make any profit on those sales. I know alot of stores around here are taking drastic steps to create sales, as for the car dealers, there are so many incentives being offered to induce someone to buy a car. My favorite line to the girlfriend is did you make any money, and her line is that GM is not refunding those extras to the dealers in any timely fashion, and when they do they come up with a new plan where by the financing arm of the deal requires more money to be held back from each deal, another way of squeezing the dealers.

Even my beloved Sam's Club where I still have many friends tell me that they are cutting prices all the time to keep sales, but it reduces there overall margin.

I really would like to become optimistic, but everytime I look into some of these reports I discover that they are always readjusted the following month.
