Massive increases in the money supply lead to inflation.

Fine. How much inflation have we had since the 70s? Gold has gone nowhere even before adjusting for inflation and even in the face of a staggering financial crisis. It wasn't supposed to be like this. The price of gold didn't explode like we were promised. Yet you still believe it's just about to happen. Just like it's always been just about to happen for 30 years.
