In reality DR cannot disclose information of consequense to a single shareholder as that would be considered insider information. Info must be disclosed to everyone at the same time. Unfortunately, in times of trouble, many CEOs choose to hide behind this rule as opposed to the good times when info flows more freely. It is also less likely for anyone to complain in the good times (when theyre making money) as opposed to the bad times (when everyone loses due to bad news).

What we have to decide for ourselves right now is, is DR being prudent, or is he hiding behind rules for convenience?
