They're lying and you still believe them. Why didn't they ever once say "we're not paying you because...", they said they didn't have the money, that's why. Produce one document that says we are not paying you because we don't think you're getting it done, never happened. It grew in scope and was going to be much more expensive to plug in than the 25k, and they didn't even have that. Payroll trumped it. I have a pile of parts and a weekly spreadsheet accounting for every nickel they gave me. I have a dozen scope changes and offers to handle the additional costs with stock/debt/etc. The 6MMGPY version I was building at the end is worth 2MM not 375k, do some homework. Take note of the 2MMGPY contract and the 6MMGPY press release. Their money went to the vendors of those parts that are sitting in my warehouse today. If your stupid enough to still believe what they tell you you deserve to lose all of your money.
