We used to say 'sell in May and stay away', this was timing based on northern hemisphere exploration where drilling started in the spring, so the financings and promos were in the period leading up to drill programmes, mid- to late-winter and early spring ... which period followed the tax-loss selling season late in the calendar year, so there was clear opportunity if you picked them right, didn't matter so much who was going to pull great intersections, far more important who was going to get the best promo, and how cheap could you pick them up before Christmas
But now there are canuck listings with exploration all over the planet, so the southern plays are on an opposite schedule ... also, the juniors still have a lot of value in them, in an environment of a steadily rising PoG [that's Price o' Gold] ... even a lot of the pure drillbit plays, without already proven metal in the ground, seem to me to make sense still at this point ... diff'rent strokes for diff'rent times ...... but people just aren't so chatty on the net when it's nice outdoors ... now i got to go finish planting beans -g- [seriously, planted major maize yesterday, tomatos and chiles soon] ... cheers
