It won't stimulate shit, but it is something the United States promised these people... I don't think it should go to their heirs.. but it's a bit late for college funding etc for a 90 year old guy... as a country we should do what we promise, should it be part of this package, no, but they seemed to have a hard time getting this thru before. It's sort of like pork, Inouye should not have pushed it, he did, welcome to the American government, each and every jerk we elect from our invdividual states is out for their own state and your interests (should they coincide with your elected officials' interests) probably in hawaii this is somewhat big issue.

Certainly this is known as the 'greatest generation' and given what I've seen, they were.

I suppose in 50 years they will be referring to the Iraqi war vets as the great generation too, certainly war sux.
