Mr Charlesworth A.S. Hewlett, Chief Executive Officer

Mr Charlesworth Hewlett, oft-known as Shelley among colleagues and associates, was born at Blubber Valley in the parish of St. Mary's on the island of Antigua in the West Indies in 1936. He attended several primary schools in Antigua and finished his high school education at the Catholic Antigua Convent High School. He travelled to the United Kingdom in February 1956 and joined the Royal Air Force in 1957 until his discharge in 1962. In the course of his five year service he received a General Service Medal for active service in Cyprus.

He attended South West London College in the late 1960s and in December 1970 he passed the Final Examination of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He became an Associate Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in June 1971 and was elevated to Fellowship of the Chartered Association in July 1976. He joined the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad & Tobago in 1973 and obtained a Practising Certificate from that Institution to enable him to practise in Trinidad Tobago and the whole of the English-speaking Caribbean. The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the United Kingdom gave him a Practising Certificate in November 1979, which enables him to practise as a Chartered Certified Accountant in the United Kingdom and worldwide.

In the recent years that the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Eastern Caribbean was formed he has been made a member with full practising rights. Mr Hewlett is also a member of the Association of International Accountants and he also holds a Practising Certificate from them.

Mr Hewlett lives with his wife Delvine in St John's, Antigua. They have two children and two grandchildren.
