TSKHINVALI, July 15 (Itar-Tass) - Georgia again shelled a South Ossetian police post on Wednesday night, an official at the South Ossetian Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
"The shelling began at about 02:00, Moscow time, at the settlement of Tamarasheni which borders on Tskhinvali. Heavy guns were also firing," the official said.
"Tbilisi continues acts of provocation, which shows its unwillingness to abide by the accords signed by Georgia," South Ossetia's Information Committee said in comments.
The agreement on ceasing any provocation and shooting was reached at the meeting of the quadripartite Joint Control Commission on July 11, the Information Committee said.
A day before the meeting, South Ossetian servicemen came under fire. Also, a Georgian helicopter gunship has crossed the administrative border of South Ossetia twice in the past three days.
"Despite these facts, Tskhinvali continues to meet all the commitments in full measure," according to the Committee.
The headquarters of the joint forces in the conflict zone confirmed the shelling of Tamarasheni, adding that OSCE observers had already arrived there.
