They drilled into a COAL BED FORMATION (known for producing Coal Bed Methane gas) to find oil?!?!?


I don't see much in common with Hemi's plans except it's in Kansas and it's going to be horizontal.

However, I would point out that they drilled into a harder formation for their payzone, and still got oil production out of it.

How much better might the results be for someone who for the first time in SE Kansas drills horizontally into an oil-saturated sandstone formation where the oil flows more freely?
