Deep Down Inc umbilical and flying lead Monitoring and Testing Service experience has rounded the decade mark and there is no other single service contractor in the Gulf of Mexico that has worked with more umbilicals and flying leads than Deep Down.

Deep Down is outfitted with high pressure triplex pumps ranging from 60 GPM at 15K PSI down to 10 GPM at 10K PSI, hoses, Cooper pressure transducers, Keller Gauges 15K & 20K PSI (recordable), and flowmeters used in performing FAT, SIT and offshore monitoring and testing of umbilical & flying lead installation and umbilical commissioning. Variable manifolds are capable of supplying the same pressures throughout the various hydraulic lines and supports multiple chemical lines simultaneously.

Electric and fiber lines are monitored and tested using Conductor Resistance (CR) and Insulation Resistance (IR) measurements using a megger and Flukes. Time Domain Reflectors for the optics include; TDR 1 has a 90,000 ft. range and TDR 2 a 100 mile range. Deep Down utilizes wireless communication and the Deep Daq 1 is rated Class 1 Div1 (air purged) to transmit data from sensors up to 5 miles apart for remote monitoring. All data is captured through certified data loggers for reporting and verification.

Hydraulic fluid cleanliness is monitored by Microscope method and with HIAC automated particle counters to insure NAS rating for both water & oil based fluids. Pumps include a 10 micron filter before the pumps and a 1-3 micron filter return to tank and back to back 1-3 micron for the return circuit.

550 gal Seastax SS Tote tanks with air gap design beneath the tank to allow accessibility to hose connections and drip pans to fit neatly under entire tank & hose assembly. Deep Down personnel are trained to work with the common chemicals and control fluids offshore.

It seems a bit rough lately.
