Military Licensee Purchases Man-Portable Beta Engines From Cyclone Power Technologies
Thursday January 22, 8:30 am ET

POMPANO BEACH, FL--(MARKET WIRE)--Jan 22, 2009 -- Cyclone Power Technologies Inc. (Other OTC:CYPW.PK - News) has received a purchase order and initial down payment from Advent Power Systems Inc. (APS) for four beta "Genie" engines.
Cyclone's Genie is an 80W man-portable steam engine, weighing less than 6 lbs with electric generator, and running on a multitude of fuels including lighter fluid. The Genie is designed for recharging computer and telecommunications batteries, especially in military field operations, and was originally commissioned in May 2008 by APS and its client, MEO Products Ltd, a defense industry supplier based in the UK.

"We are very pleased with the test units provided to us, and have determined that the technology and potential market for a compact, man-portable power source warrants our proceeding to the next phase of this program," stated Dr. Phillip Myers, President of APS. "The Genie can run on a wide variety of fuels that may be available in the battle space, greatly easing logistic support. It also has the potential for major savings of cost and weight by allowing convenient in-field battery recharging." Dr. Myers is a former U.S. Air Force Engineering Officer.

The company expects to deliver these beta prototype engines by the middle of 2009, at which time the parties will conduct additional field testing. The design and functionality of the Genie is based on the company's award-winning Cyclone Engine, but has been scaled down to the size of a coffee can. The company anticipates emissions from the Genie to be extremely low, with virtually no NOX produced.

APS holds the exclusive license for military applications in the United States and European Union using Cyclone's clean engine technology. MEO Products, which has been involved in the distribution and development of technologies for the armed services for over 10 years, is also involved in this Phase II engine development effort.

CORPORATE PROFILE

Cyclone Power Technologies is the developer of the award-winning Cyclone Engine -- an eco-friendly external combustion engine with the power and versatility to run everything from portable electric generators and garden equipment to cars, trucks and locomotives. Invented by company founder and CEO Harry Schoell, the patented Cyclone Engine is a modern day steam engine, ingeniously designed to achieve high thermal efficiencies through a compact heat-regenerative process, and to run on virtually any fuel -- including bio-diesels, syngas or solar -- while emitting fewer greenhouse gases and irritating pollutants into the air. Currently in its late stages of development, the Cyclone Engine was recognized by Popular Science Magazine as the Invention of the Year for 2008, and was presented with the Society of Automotive Engineers' AEI Tech Award in 2006 and 2008. Additionally, Cyclone was recently named Environmental Business of the Year by the Broward County Environmental Protection Department. For more information, visit www.cyclonepower.com.
