Here's the way it should have worked on your end just for future reference.....

Since as you said you've spoken with her several times....You should have picked up the phone and called her. You should have asked her if she just had a conversation with a guy in which she told him X,Y and Z. Now if she said to you this conversation never happened and you posted that....that would be one thing.

You didn't do that, you have no idea whether Joe spoke with her or not and shouldn't have been so lazy taking pot shots at someone else sharing their hard work with the board. You might have found out she did speak with him which is what I believe and then.... you either would have not made that foolish post or you might have contributed more info to the board about what you learned from your phone call with her.
