I do make adjustments when the stock moves sharply, rarely happens, it is a slo moving animal with well defined trend, until recently the trend was down, so I would sell the calls first, wait few days for the stock to drift down a little more to sell the puts. Sometimes, I would even go in and buy back the contracts, if profits offered, most of the time they are simply rolled over.
As for PFL, no options trading against it, so it is difficult to "sell time" againt it to raise your meager 4% to5% returns, also, I am not sure if the income stream is treated as "dividends", TLT's stream is.
