E-E's wind turbine is unique as it is small and roof mounted and a squirrel cage design. I don't own one, so i can't tell you if they are more efficient than the standard open blade design. However, it does 'look' like a safer design.
As far as their solar? They are using standard, bulky, hard to install and maintain panels. If they move to nano-tech as shown in some of those vids, they can be on the cutting edge.
Solar Screens. These produce NO electric. But close your eyes and imagine a pull down window screen that is made of this nano-tech (they showed in the video it being rolled up), and at the valance there is the wiring. This wiring is daisy chained together (as shown in the video) and added to the network.
Ok, there may not be many homes that get enough side light, but there ARE many buildings that do. Those really tall city buildings with these nano shades producing all sorts of electric. But when you want to see outside, you simply roll them back up...
Now if E-E was smart, they would look into this and try for a Gov grant to work on this. Possibly $3-5M for research?? Not bad.
But I doubt this is that type of company. One that would look for those opportunities. This seems to be a lazy deal, whereby those involved want the quick buck.
