Bullwinkle: Megaphones are broadening formations (expanding triangles). Per my experience, expanding triangles are just that, expanding patterns at both constraining trend lines. I would be cautious of betting on “ascending" or "descending" megaphones.
IMO…you would have been better severed if you had recognized the rising wedge patterns in play and noted the possible retrace targets…
