zab: This is not my thought, but I've heard it and it makes sense to me: with the industrialized world heading into a deep recession [or worse,] the demand for oil will be greatly reduced. Hence the drop in oil prices...and when the pendulum swings, it almost always swings far beyond the point of "rationality."
