That's okay, I think Al Gore said something similar in a vice presidential debate. Democracy is not a perfect institution. Indeed, as Winston Churchill observed, democracy is an absolutely terrible political system, except when compared with all of it's alternatives (paraphrased, I don't have the actual quote).
