We are headed for a universal health care system. One problem to overcome; have to convince those people who have unlimited health care (that is virtually free to them) that they can no longer be treated that way. We want our health care exactly the way it is without personal responsibility for paying for it.

The automobile industry is dead. No matter how much money we toss down the rat hole, it is done in it's present form. Krugman is right on this issue....the industry is done. Plenty of blame to go all around. Of course we'll take the least efficient way of adjusting and no doubt the government will squander 10's or 100's of billions in tax $'s.
