Id_Jit might just be "The Man"! I was just about to write the following message on the board, but I wanted to check the history of my posts and see if anyone has brought this up yet. Let me know what you guys think.

Intake gasket on my 97 Saturn SL2...

I've talked many times about my problems with my SL2. I went to get an inspection today and it failed (of course). I'm not sure how it has past the last two years, but it failed this time.

They told me that they thought it was the intake manifold gasket. They then told me that they would charge me for 7.3 hours of labor. Total cost was going to be $550 after the owner gave me $80 off.

Well I went to Advanced Auto across the street and the part was $9. Any chance I could do this my self? You guys know I'm car stupid, but I sure would like to save $500!! I'm not sure this car is worth sinking any more money into. I did just buy 4 new tires though, so if I can fix it myself, I'll keep driving it.
