Talked with John, now that he has seen things, and also because of his position in a Public company there are things he will not say, there are things he will not put in writting as well, so do not expect an email reply with answers to all your questions, the only way you will get that stuff is in a proper PR release.
John, had his eyes opened to how things are in SL, very interesting trip he had and I will one day go and see for my self as well. one thing he told me that I can rely is that at no time did he feel concerned for his safety, he felt safer there than in some of the city's in the USA.
Relationships are Key! and he said Doug has them, and with the relationships it still took 10 months to work the deal for the SEWA concession, the Paramount Chief had been screwed over from a past deal.
now consider this as well, we get the concession, but the good gravel access is on the other side of the river, what do you do? cross the river right! well in all cases over there they blew the bridges all up during the WAR, so we have to build a bridge first.
there are alot more infastructure issues to be put inplace than just rolling up with your equipment and pulling gold out of the river bed.
also you have to prove as a company that you are there for the local people too, and have to insist that all the benefits trickle down, and if they don't how do you make sure you as a company make sure the message is delivered that you will not move forward with out seeing the local people benefit.
I can go on and on. but I will tell you this, I really do like the direction on how Doug is running the opporations,
Call John, talk to him about the two local men helping Doug and how they fit into the plan, this has been 5 years of building, but who really knows how long Doug has truly been at it in SL? I am feeling no concerns, I am in for a very long time.
