The only GTC director currently affiliated with Genzyme is James Geraghty, who is a Genzyme executive officer. However, Geraghty does not formally represent Genzyme’s interests in the way that Christian Béchon formally represents LFB’s.

Cox has a connection to Genzyme that dates to the period from 1984-1997, but he has had no formal ties with Genzyme since then.

The bottom line is that Genzyme probably has little or no interest in what happens to GTC and it’s highly unlikely that Genzyme will play an active role in any future dealmaking.
