Well, regarding the better reception. We have been receiving digital signal on several of the channels for some time now. The big 4 all have digital signal channels already. For instance, channel 2 in Houston is NBC analog, channel 2.1 is a digital copy of the same broadcast, and so on for 11 (CBS), 13 (ABC), 26 (FOX), etc.

The digital picture is better, but the signal is weaker, and often times unavailable. So if they don't add some towers or crank it up, or do something to improve the signal I am afraid we will be going satellite anyway.

This is very much like the analog to digital change in cellphones. I think the analog signal, however inefficient, carried farther distance and therefore required fewer towers.
