This is par for the course, IMO. Sell-side biotech analysts in the US have a strong tendency to be dickheads.
For some reason, the sell-side analysts in Europe are, by and large, not like that. They actually ask intelligent questions and they don’t preface their questions with gratuitous flattery.
I don’t know if this behavioral difference is cultural or structural, but it is unmistakable.
