GM's situation is is kinda like a doctor in the ER that has a patient come in who tried to commit suicide with a shotgun but misjudged the recoil and blew off his face. The doctor (feds) has no choice but to try and save the patient due to the oath taken, but if the patient (GM) was on a death march prior to having no face, the end is inevitable now that the patient is depressed and deformed, even if the doctor is able to save the patient this time around.
