Wasting your breath. Sorry. I think we will see a traditional PIPE via Rodman... at a discount and with warrants. I'd love to be proven wrong. I approached Dr. Stoll about other financing options in the distant past: shareholder rights offering, VC route, novel investing options mentioned, but I didn't see the interest then, and he mentioned a number of obstacles making such financing difficult in non-traditional avenues. I even explored a debt issue for some walking around money, using the ampakine platform as collateral. Suffice it to say, 'this' idea didn't impress him=)
One can imagine a PIPE with Rodman: say for 50 cents a share for 10 million shares with 3.3 million warrants. I can't say I like it, but I've heard this song before. One irksome detail to bring up here is will this really give Cortex enough breathing room to ink a deal? If a pharma is playing hardball with Cortex over cash on hand related issues, then 3-5 million won't make a bit of distance. If on the otherhand, as I suspect, Cortex is nearing a deal, but wants a few more months cash cushion to allow the financial tornado to clear a bit, then a small PIPE may be painful, but vital.
