WMI doesnt want WAMU back though. They were in negotiations to sell before the takeover and turned down $8/share. Ideally they want to sell the holding company and get fair value, I know I used the word "fair". To me they are trying to shore things up in anticipation of that, to make the bottom line more solid for a takeover.
