Disney Rides
I have been on the Roger Rabbit ride at Disneyland.
The ride has been open about seven years and that means that a lot of
people have been on it. Conservatively 10,000 people ride it a day, 365 days a year.
Let's say 3 million a year for 7 years or about 20 million riders. One serious injury
and the ride is shut down. What happened on the ride and how the child fell out is
a mystery since the ride is not very fast. The problem could be with the size of the
child or the age of the child. Maybe age 5 or older with a minimum height requirement.
(It's like that on the "fast" rides) It may disappoint a few children but save on future
injuries. (I doubt that) There are going to be accidents no matter where you go and
what you do and to focus on Disney as the culprit in this matter is wrong. The numbers
just don't justify a statistical problem. You have a better change of hitting a state lottery
jackpot than getting hurt at a Disney theme park.
The automobile drive to get to a theme park is far more dangerous than the rides.
