Yes, historically the market has tended to fully discount
those expectations early. But I fear that that is not the case
for this market.

Discounting is essentially the smart money getting out in front when fairly certain that they know where things are going.

I don't think anybody is confident where this is going; hence I don't
believe it has been discounted.

We'll see. Of the two positions I would be delighted to be wrong and
for you to be right.
