Oxbow, at the risk of beating a dead horse, let me clarify my views about TA. IMO, technical indicators do not drive markets...nor do events. What drives the market are emotions: namely, greed and fear. If a positive event occurs, that generates greed in folks and they buy, pushing prices higher. Conversely, negative events generate fear. TA is merely another way of evaluating individual stocks and overall markets to try to gauge whether there is more fear or greed at work.

While I agree with Jerry's observation, I don't think the efficacy of the drugs will make any difference in a freefall market. We saw today how fear can wipe out price levels.
