I'm sorry to have offended you. That was not the intent. I was offering you a way to "win friends and influence people" to your viewpoint. As the old saying goes, you can catch more flies with honey. Concerning dd, I think you stepped in it (that's a joke:), as you've offended a couple more board members and probably accumulated a few more ignores. Now that you've seen more of the effect your posts are having on the board,please re-read my post in the vein it was written.
The conversation I had with Tainor was concerning questions left over AFTER my best efforts to do my own dd. Many previous questions I posted were along the way to my gaining enough knowledge to have some reasonable semblance of understanding the company and technology, all part of dd. Never has anyone else refused to share their understanding when I was confused, unless like Tainor on a point or two they just didn't know the answer either. That's why we have this board, to share our knowledge and benefit from each other's dd.
Just so you know why I haven't ignored you and always look at both sides of any issue, my natural instincts are to help others and save lives in the process. Imagine somebody walking into the hospital with a life-threatening infection and after doing all the lab tests, I just say "Figure it out yourself". Or I could just run the series of biochemical tests required to identify the microorganism, but decide to ignore all the negative reactions along the identification algorithm. Who cares if the patient dies because they were given the wrong medication? Well, I hope you get the idea. I do care.
Lastly, I figured everyone would look at my username and know I'm female. My husband and I joined the AirForce together during the Vietnam era and took every educational opportunity offered, including leadership schools and social relations classes. This is strictly damage control at this point, so other board members know the military is not responsible for your failure to learn to abide by the rules of fairness and civility. Whether you take this opportunity to change your tactics will say much about your character and will certainly affect your future credibility. Let him who has ears to hear...
