How could they not know?

They know how much the dredge produces per hour and every ounce of it goes through the washing process.

Much will be lost in the washing process but they should have a very good idea how much material has come out ready for processing.

It is a little simplistic to infer they have no idea how much washed material is ready for the processors.

Any reputable mining company would know roughly at the very least how much processable ore they have in inventories.

That is just a common business and in this case mining practice.

If they really don't know they are somewhat negligent because they certainly should.

The dredge operation didn't start yesterday.
