These were the same permabulls arms locked from 14,400 to 10,000. Hmmmmmm. With commodity prices coming down, there's room to tap that printing press. Me gut feeling says the fear greater than the fact.
But either way the easiest/fastest path to recovery is and has always been innovation. The "next big thing" gets invented, and we're immediately off to the races again. Internet, cell phone, fax machine, computing power that we notice a difference besides faster of the same internet....something that really improves production and/or reduces costs. We're overdue and in need of something new. What have we had in the last 5-10 years? Not much. The ipod and iphone are cute and all, but not what we all had in mind when we read science fiction stories taking place in 2008. Innovation has been absolutel pathetic vs. other periods in our last 150 years of American history.
