Both parties are looking to "repair" our health situation while at the same time enroll more people.

The problem simply is that American medical care is too expensive. In 2008 we're estimating that health care per capita will exceed $7000 per citizen!! That's $28,000/yr for a family of 4.

The only way I could see it being changed is price controls or through an fixed pricing schedule.

If America wants to provide healthcare to every citizen it will have to model itself just like every european or the canadian system. The government will have to set firm pricing models such as medicaid/medicare or all the doc's will have to become government employees. There can not a free market.
