both [ifn and ribavirin] not only suppress VL, but are felt to participate in reprogramming the immune system to enable a durable response once antiviral therapy is discontinued.

Questions:

a) IFN I understand, but ribavirin?

b) Have you seen any data to support this - i.e. make it a more substantial argument than purely common sense. I thought about looking for data to support/refute this several months ago - but the obvious data won't be available for years (the ultimate test is relapse rate after treatment with a cocktail).
