I believe the Iranians have suggested that before. The Saudis have as well... quite a few years back.
The problem is Israel. Sooner or later they figure they'll just have it all. Actually I should say Israel's leadership, the old-line Zionists. Among the general population, this idea has real currency. I'm always hopeful myself.
