WELLINGTON, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 7.3 onthe Richter scale hit Kermadec Islands in New Zealand early Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
No casualties or damages were reported so far, and no tsunami warning was issued.
The quake occurred at 03:19 a.m. local time (1532 GMT Monday). The epicenter was at the sea area near Kermadec Islands, 1,035 northeast of Auckland at the depth of 35 km.
