Hi Dew,

I see a couple exceptions and ways that a new drug could compete in retinal diseases.

#1. If someone could find a drug that gets superior efficacy (synergistic) in combination with avastin vs. avastin alone

#2. An oral or topical medication with non-inferior efficacy


I don't think a drug like VEGF trap has any commercail value. Most docs are giving avastin PRN anyway, sometimes quarterly, sometimes less.
