yes i did. and if was a pain in the ass getting the tank out with the heat shield in the way covering the exhaust pipe. but i was able to slide the tank out past the pipe and the heat shield. the heat shield was pretty flimsy material but they riveted it to the car, so to get rid of it you had to cut it or tear it out. i was able to bend it out of the way. it was even covering half of one of the tank straps
