Free trading float - The total number of shares publicly owned and available for trading. The float is calculated by subtracting restricted shares from outstanding shares.

Essentially when you say that the float is zero you are saying that all shares that are available for trading are held by a number of individuals. So the fact that the float may be zero really doesn't mean anything. It just means that you and others own the shares.
