Florida designer beats Stark County duo in national comics contest An Orlando, Fla., designer for an architecture firm won this year's national Comic Book Challenge. Carlos Weiser wrote, "The Armageddon Chronicles," which tells the story of a child and his journey in a world full of angels, demons and humans. Weiser beat two other finalists, receiving enough votes online to win the contest by Platinum Studios. One of the finalists was a pair of Stark County residents, Jon Judy of Canton and Sean McArdle of Louisville. The pair created "The Reserves," a tale about superpowers, America and a cold war. The other finalist was "Marvin and Joe" by Christopher Tupa of Edna, Texas. For winning, Weiser receives a publishing contract with Platinum Studios.
