No nafion or platinum in ITM`s electrolyzer

If you ever needed an insight into the problems of nafion and the enormous world wide effort to try to solve its deficiencies you need look no further than this update

http://arxiv.org/ftp/physics/papers/0310/0310029.pdf

which reviews completed and ongoing R&D work of trying to solve the deficiencies of nafion the world standard membrane in fuel cells and electrolyzers

A quck skim down the page will demonstrate just how dramatic the patented ITM membrane really is……and the problems solved at a stroke

These are just some of the technical benefits of the ITM membrane over nafion

…ability to operate at room temperature while nafion needs to be heated up

….water loving not water hating

…no need for complex bop to prevent platinum poisoning

…25% greater conductivity therefore more output per cm2

... Control at individual cell level versus stack level for nafion

..And with the electrolyser /storage tank/fuel cell combination, the need to cater for impure hydrogen is eliminated

Not forgetting

The ITM membrane is 1% of the cost of the nafion membrane
