Warning - This post mentions Birdstep!

I think "T" did the board a service in digging up Birdstep as a potential competitor and/or licensee and/or infringer of CLYW's patent. Job well done, that's what these boards are for.

Also, when on occasion, a poster does not understand how Birdstep could or could not compete, the topic (IMHO) is again appropriate.

I also think that "T" takes it a little too far when touting Birdstep as the greatest thing since sliced bread, and highlighting Birdsteps many accomplishments - none of which matter to me as a CLYW shareholder. (Until Birdtep wins a customer that CLYW was competing for).

I maintain that Birdstep is potential competition for us, and should be monitored - (but not touted, not here at least).

I can't recal if I am included in the "Basher" pool or not, but my view on todays press release is the same as all the other press releases- there is no meat. All they keep saying is that they have signed "trial" agreements with providers, carriers, etc, etc. There is no news here, I hope like heck they are trying to sell their product - they don't have to keep telling me that they are. What I want to hear is they sold somthing!

The news we need to move the stock again is one with near term revenue and/or industry acknowledgement that CLYW has something desired.

In reference to all the testing and the recent detailed descriptions of the technology on this board, I hope everyone understands the magnitude of implementing ASNAP in the real world. Once it is established that ASNAP IS the cats meow and everyone wants it, it will be many many many years before you see wide spread mainstream use. Putting new technology in a phone takes years, and testing takes years as well. To get Nokia to use ASNAP in one handset model would first take a license agreement between Nokia and CLYW, and then 12 - 16 months to develop a model. Once finished, it would go through 6 months of testing, and then be ready for any carrier who has also signed on with CLYW to use their technology.

I'm sure this is why they (CLYW) are developing their own handsets. Doing it themselves at least gets product to the market quickly (well, not as quick as CLYW originally thought) and allows the concept to be proven. But once proven, you are at the beginning of the process, not the end of it. CLYW hasn't reached the starting line yet. When they do, we will be hearing about revenue producing contracts - meaningful press release that cause us, as well as our stock, to jump!
