It seemed like a silly thing to say, and you don't seem to be silly.

People get confused enough about record date, pay date and ex-dividend date. Some even make the mistake of calling their broker for an answer, which in most cases turns out to be a dumb answer and then OH! The broker said it, it must be true.

Who you gonna believe, a broker that has never played a penny stock for a dividend, or me, that has played hundreds for a dividend.
