I could have a company that simply invests in other companies. I don't really create anything, or have a great idea - just assets (that hopefully grow in value). I could sell/trade/merge some or all of the assets into other ventures or companies to hopefully make some $$.

Yes, but.....

Berkshire Hathaway does this but the comparison ends there. The companies they invest in actually provide services or products (Geico and Coca-Cola for example) and most importantly, cash flow. But then Buffet is light years away from Lumb. Lucadia (LUK) is another company that does this, but FFGO shares no similarities with their business plan. The differences are too numerous to list but shares of other non-reporting pennies are much of an investment.
