Apparently I misunderstood you. I agree with your last post. I thought you were saying that shorts don't cover when a stock drops and, of course, that is how they make money. Trying to call an absolute bottom is difficult of course and greed can cost shorts just like it can cost longs. It is always difficult to sell and take a profit when you are short or long but hate to lose out on the stock going lower or higher than your sell point.
