The duty of the CEO is to build shareholder value, not to increase the price of the stock.
Sometimes they follow hand-in-hand but the obvious difference is that the decisions and actions of the CEO are directly linked to only one.
A subtle difference between DDI (the company) and DPDW (the stock). Keeping them separate in the mind can mean the difference in making money in stock market or losing.
