U.S. Oil Companies Trying to Resume Activities in Iran
TEHRAN May 22 (MNA) –- An informed source told the Mehr News Agency that the American company Halliburton is trying to become involved in the South Pars gas field development project.
Halliburton, with ties to U.S. Vice-President Dick Cheney is operating under the name Oil Oriental Kish Company and is bidding on drilling contracts for phases 9 and 10 of the South Pars gas field. Of course, American companies are prohibited from involvement in Iranian economic activities.
He added that the value of the bid for drilling phases 9 and 10 is $300 million. Other foreign and Iranian companies have set up consortiums to participate in the bidding.
According to the report, the U.S.-owned Oil Oriental Kish Company has been registered in England.
