No that does not alleviate the concerns about Jatropha.
50,000 acres for a 10 million gallon per year plant.
78 square miles.
Intercropping would mean more space would be required over a larger distance and it is less efficient overall.

hmm ... and for a 100 MG/yr plant?
500,000 acres and 780 square miles.
Not realistic in Belize

50,000 acres represents 18% of Belize's arable land.
In geography, arable land (from Latin arare, to plough) is an agricultural term, meaning land that can be used for growing crops.

And all space is not the same.
An acre on the side of a mountain, in a swamp or in a protected rainforest can't produce much feedstock.

Belize just does NOT have that much land available.

1. Total land in Belize is 22,800 sq km. ~
14,250 sq mi.

2. Arable land in Belize is only 3.05% or 434 sq mi.
