Wouldn't it just be easier to sell all that crap and buy a nicer house in a planned neighborhood in the suburbs?

I lived in those kinds of neighborhoods all my life prior to getting this place about 5 years ago. And I could never go back to that kind of living. Houses next to each other and small yards just aren't my style. I need room both to play and to hold the toys.

But here're the two main reasons I moved out to the country:

1200 sq ft detached garage.

7200 sq ft (plus 2400 sq ft lean-to) still under construction, but a lot further along than this pic shows.

Note how tiny the Mustangs look in it. That, joe, is a GARAGE. <g>

I love cars, motorcycles (I think I've got something like 7 motorcycles right now), tractors, or anything else with an engine, so the main reason I moved out to the country is to have space to indulge my vehicle fetish. And this workshop, when it's done, will be the realization of my dreams for the past 30 years.

I just noticed the pond in that pic. Hard to tell it's a pond. Just to the right of where I was standing. I rebuilt that last year so it holds a lot more water and is sealed better. There's a concrete structure in the middle of it now on which we're putting a gazebo this year and a bridge leading out to it. It's stocked with about 1000 goldfish and 200 koi. And 19 ducks.

Ahhhh, country living. hehe

Oh, and another sweet part of country living... My wife and daughter are staying at grandma's tonight, and I live pretty far from other people, so as soon as I'm done with this message (though it's 11 at night), I'm opening a Bud Dry, plugging in a bass, cranking it up to 11, and having some fun. And nobody lives close enough to hear it.
